The opportunity

With a reputation for innovation, quality and sustainability spanning over 10 years, our client is a leading privately owned NZ business, and they manufacture and represent some of the country’s most popular brands.  This is a business where senior managers are hands on and know what’s going on from the ground up (quite literally). It’s a hugely interesting and dynamic business which offers staff the benefit of a supportive and understanding culture.

 

The role

You will be an expert when it comes to identifying and eliminating risks and won’t be afraid to get stuck in to ensure the business complies with all relevant legislation for both local and export markets.  The business exports to a range of countries and customers therefore a one size fits all approach to quality won’t work.  Instead, you will need to be open minded when it comes to individual customer requirements.

 

The product has a lot of natural variation therefore you will need to be commercially minded, flexible and open to interpretation.   This is an influential role working with a wide range of people – from business and viticulture minded experts to seasonal workers, therefore a consultative and diplomatic communication style is essential.

 

Attributes and Experience

 

To be considered for this role you must have significant experience in quality management backed by a relevant tertiary qualification (BTech, BApp Sci or similar).  You will have worked previously in the food, beverage or wine sectors and have a thorough understanding of New Zealand food based regulations. You are comfortable and experienced when dealing with audits (both internal and customer).  You are a strong leader with excellent communication skills and have proven influencing and negotiating skills.
